The War Seen Through Our Eyes is a documentary family interview project initiated by the Association for Ukraine's Hope (Ukrán Remény Egyesület). The project complements our ongoing educational programs for Ukrainian families—primarily school-aged children—living in Budapest, Hungary.
Despite continuing funding constraints, we have successfully completed and paid for the Hungarian proofreading of the interview transcripts.
The project is currently progressing through the dedicated work of volunteers. Ongoing activities include compiling and harmonizing the texts in three languages, identifying a graphic designer to prepare the book's design and layout, and seeking a publishing partner to produce an initial print run of 200 copies.
Through this publication, we aim to help the international community better understand the lived experiences of families who have been forced to flee their homes, rebuild their lives in a new country, and overcome the challenges of starting anew.
At the same time, we have launched our Summer Daily Camp for Ukrainian refugee children living in Budapest. We have also secured support to provide all participating children with free sandals.
