The STEM Hub Lab Project by Gender Equality Club Nigeria (GECN) is a two-year tested initiative implemented in the rural communities of Gboko, Benue State.
The project has reached over 200 girls from low-income families who are studying science in under-resourced secondary schools, many of whom had never experienced a single science experiment before this intervention.
The project provides girls with practical learning opportunities, hands-on experiments, and exposure to real STEM applications that strengthen their academic confidence and inspire future careers in science and technology.
Despite the remarkable impact recorded, limited funding remains a major challenge to sustaining and expanding the program to more schools in rural areas.
We sincerely appreciate our current donors and partners who have trusted and supported our mission so far. However, to bridge the persistent STEM gap among girls and women in underserved communities, we urgently appeal to foreign donors, organizations, and individuals who support STEM education to increase their funding commitment.
Every dollar counts it helps a girl in rural Nigeria gain access to essential science tools, experiments, and mentorship.
Together, we can build a generation of young women who are not just learning science but practicing it with confidence and purpose.
