In July 2026, Charity Foundation “Union of Volunteers of Kharkiv” implemented the educational project “League of Young Volunteers 2026”, aimed at engaging children and teenagers in volunteer activities, developing their leadership skills, social responsibility, and practical abilities to support their community.
The project created a safe educational space where young participants learned about the importance of volunteering and gained practical experience in humanitarian work. Through a combination of workshops, interactive activities, and hands-on tasks, participants discovered how volunteer initiatives are organized and how they can contribute to helping others.
During the program, young volunteers:
learned the basics of volunteer work, teamwork, and communication;
developed leadership skills and a sense of social responsibility;
participated in the activities of the Clothing Hub, assisting with sorting, organizing, and preparing humanitarian items;
gained knowledge of first aid, mine safety, and emergency response;
practiced cooperation, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
An important part of the project was involving participants in real volunteer processes. The children had the opportunity to see how humanitarian assistance is prepared and delivered, understand the needs of their community, and become active contributors to positive change.
The “League of Young Volunteers 2026” demonstrated the importance of investing in young people and creating opportunities for them to participate in community life. The project helped participants become more confident, responsible, and motivated to continue volunteering.
For Kharkiv, a frontline city facing ongoing challenges, supporting and educating a new generation of volunteers is especially important. Through this initiative, Charity Foundation “Union of Volunteers of Kharkiv” continues to strengthen community resilience and encourage youth involvement in humanitarian activities.
