The Gift Of A Helping Hand Transitional housing provides shelter for domestic violence survivors and homeless single mothers with children. In addition, shelter and emotional support will also be provided for the children of women who are victims of domestic violence in southeastern Michigan.
The problem we are addressing is domestic violence against women. 1 in 4 women are victim of domestic violence by an intimate partner. Domestic violence against women must stop. Let us end the violence, afford battered women and help safeguard them against future abuse, mandate restitution and offer resources for independent, violence-free living.
Our program promotes diversity and economic self-sufficiency through workforce initiatives. The program will provide resources for our clients to domestic violence support groups, classes and other valuable human services programs. The program will make available outreach programs for the children residing in the shelter such as after school programs and activities.
Our program outcome is to help eliminate homelessness and domestic violence against women. Our goal is to lower the percentage rate of homelessness in southeastern Michigan and help provide support groups and other valuable resources which will help stop domestic violence against women. Our program will give women the proper tools they will need to become self-sufficient and self-reliant. Our collaboration with other organization will help domestic violence women to break the cycle.
