Empowering Adolescent Boys and Young Men Through the Boys Concern Project
Over the past three months, Men of Honour has made significant strides in empowering adolescent boys and young men through the Boys Concern Project. Utilizing the Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) curriculum, we have conducted 10 workshops, reaching over 120 boys with vital lessons on gender equality, consent, and mental health awareness. Through interactive discussions and mentorship, participants have gained a deeper understanding of respect, equality, and the importance of emotional well-being. Testimonials from young men highlight the transformative impact of these sessions, with many acknowledging a shift in mindset towards treating others with dignity and respect.
Recognizing the increasing mental health challenges among boys, we have incorporated discussions on emotional resilience and help-seeking behavior into our curriculum. Additionally, we have begun establishing a Youth Hub—a safe space where young people can engage in meaningful discussions, mentorship, and personal development. With donor support, we have received USD 400 through the GlobalGiving Platform, which enabled us to conduct CBIM sessions and allocate 35% of the funds toward furnishing the Youth Hub, including painting and purchasing furniture. We are working towards completing the structure by April 5, 2025, and expanding mentorship programs to create a lasting impact.
We deeply appreciate the generosity of our donors, whose contributions have allowed us to positively influence the lives of over 90 boys in just three months. Your support is not just shaping individual futures but also fostering a culture of non-violence, gender equality, and emotional well-being among young men. As we aim to reach at least 500 boys by June 2025, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Together, we can create lasting change and build a society where young men grow into responsible, compassionate leaders.
