Asante Aid for Children and Schools in Africa seeks USD 75,000 ( KSh 9,750,000) to construct the Asante Aid Educational Center in Tezo area, Kilifi County, Kenya. This inclusive, community-driven institution will provide free, high-quality education to over 300 underprivileged children and youth annually, addressing entrenched barriers such as poverty, gender inequality, and limited access to learning resources. The center will be built adjacent to Asante Village, which houses formerly homeless
Kilifi County faces one of the highest poverty rates in Kenya, estimated at 71.7%, compared to the national average of 47%. This poverty manifests in: Landlessness (11.3% of households), limiting agricultural income Limited access to piped water (48%) and electricity (11.7%) Heavy reliance on firewood (71%) and kerosene (83%) for cooking and lighting High school dropout rates, especially at the secondary level, due to unaffordable fees and hidden costs Girls at heightened risk.
To provide equitable, sustainable, and transformative education to vulnerable children and youth in Kilifi County. SMART Objectives: Enroll and retain 300+ students annually in free primary and secondary education Equip 100 youth per year with vocational skills for economic independence Train 20 teachers annually in modern pedagogy and digital literacy Achieving a 70% transition rate from primary to secondary education within three years Reduce dropout rates among girls by 50%
