Hope in the Sand: Help Us Build the Asante Aid Educational Center

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We write to you with gratitude in our hearts and hope in our hands.

Thanks to your generous contributions through GlobalGiving, we have taken the very first step toward realizing a long-held dream: the Asante Aid Educational Center (Asante Aid Learning Haven). With your support, we were able to purchase a truckload of construction sand, a humble but powerful symbol of progress.

Although the center has yet to rise from the ground, the vision remains clear and urgent: to create a safe, nurturing space where vulnerable children can access quality education, mentorship, and opportunities. In communities where poverty, displacement, and hardship threaten the future of many young lives, this center will be a beacon of hope.

But we cannot do it alone.

Dear Supporters,

We are deeply grateful for your continued belief in our mission to empower children through education. Even the smallest contributions, such as the $8.58 received during this period, represent a powerful vote of confidence in our work and help us move one step closer to realizing the Asante Aid Educational Centre in Kilifi County, Kenya.

Though the funds received this quarter have not yet been spent, we remain actively engaged in planning and mobilization efforts. Here are a few updates from the field:

Planning Progress

We have finalized the architectural concept for the Educational Centre, which will include classrooms, a library, and accessible facilities for students with disabilities.
Our team is currently refining the budget to prioritize long-term sustainability, incorporating features such as solar energy and rainwater harvesting systems.
We continue to engage with local stakeholders, teachers, parents, and community leaders to ensure the centre reflects the needs and aspirations of those it will serve.

Organizational Work

We’ve submitted proposals to several potential donors and partners, and are actively following up to secure larger funding commitments.
Our communications team is preparing a campaign to raise awareness about the project and its transformative potential for over 3,500 students.

Story from the Field

Recently, we visited one of the eight schools previously built with support from RED CHAIRity and other partners. There, we met Amina, a 12-year-old student who shared how access to a safe classroom and books has changed her life. Her dream is to become a teacher and help other children in her village learn to read. Stories like Amina’s fuel our determination to expand access to quality education through the Asante Aid Educational Centre.
