Summary

Our institution in Tamil Nadu focuses on Disability Management of Persons with Disabilities. Our Technology-based Early Intervention Program screens children aged 0-6 for developmental delays using our Enabling Inclusion app, and those who need support receive free therapy. The program is run by a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation specialists who use standardized developmental tools embedded in the EI app to track progress and review.

Challenge

In India, many disabled children can't afford education or don't have access to it due to financial difficulties, discrimination, and lack of care. 72% of 5-year-olds with disabilities haven't been to school, and 23% of disabled children aged 5-19 in Tamil Nadu never attended school. Over 100,000 children with developmental delays require early intervention services in Tamil Nadu, but 67% of them live in rural areas without access to such services.

Solution

Our Solution Enabling Inclusion is a Digital platform that puts together the various rehabilitation protocols and program management that reaches 4 times more the number of children for the same amount of investment, achieves 8 times more school enrolment at the pre-primary level, 73 out of 100 involved families get improved social economic development.

Long-Term Impact

Our program helps NGOs, governments, and rehab professionals deliver quality therapy to children in their homes through Community Rehabilitation Workers guided by specialists via our app. This reduces costs, increases therapy compliance, and improves parent-child engagement. We strive to reach 100,000 children by 2030, overcoming the lack of rehab specialists in rural areas by leveraging technology to connect community workers to specialists.
