Advancing Rural Entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment through Digital Skills
Dear community,
During this reporting period, Más por TIC continued to strengthen its mission of using technology as a practical tool for rural development, entrepreneurship, and social mobility in Colombia. Through new training initiatives, strategic partnerships, and communications efforts focused on rural youth, the organization advanced three key workstreams: the launch of “1,2,3 x Mi Negocio” in Boyacá, the delivery of a #CharlaPorTIC with TikTok on entrepreneurship, and the development of a new podcast series designed to empower rural youth.
A major milestone was the confirmed kick-off of “1,2,3 x Mi Negocio” in Boyacá, a program designed to support rural productive organizations in strengthening their business capabilities through digital tools, entrepreneurship training, and practical guidance. The initiative will begin with the participation of 19 farmers’ associations, representing a meaningful opportunity to expand the reach of digital transformation among agricultural communities. By working directly with organized rural producers, Más por TIC aims to help these associations improve their visibility, commercial practices, and capacity to use technology in ways that respond to their real business needs.
The launch in Boyacá is especially relevant because it connects digital inclusion with productive development. For many rural associations, the challenge is not only access to technology, but also the ability to use digital tools strategically: to communicate their value proposition, reach new clients, organize business information, strengthen marketing efforts, and improve decision-making. Through “1,2,3 x Mi Negocio,” Más por TIC is helping transform digital knowledge into practical capabilities that can support stronger and more sustainable rural businesses.
In parallel, Más por TIC delivered a new #CharlaPorTIC in partnership with TikTok, focused on entrepreneurship. This session created a space for learning and inspiration around how digital platforms can help entrepreneurs tell their stories, connect with audiences, promote their products, and participate more actively in the digital economy. The collaboration with TikTok reinforces the importance of public-private and cross-sector partnerships in bringing relevant digital knowledge to communities that can benefit from new tools for visibility, creativity, and business growth.
The #CharlaPorTIC format continues to serve as an accessible and engaging mechanism to bring expert knowledge closer to rural communities, young people, and entrepreneurs. By focusing on entrepreneurship, the session helped participants understand that digital platforms are not only spaces for entertainment or communication, but also powerful channels for economic opportunity. For rural entrepreneurs, learning how to use these tools can open new pathways to market access, storytelling, and brand development.
Más por TIC is also developing a new podcast series to empower rural youth. This initiative responds to the need to create inspiring, accessible, and relatable content for young people in rural areas, highlighting opportunities, role models, digital skills, entrepreneurship, and personal development. The podcast will serve as a platform to amplify voices, share knowledge, and connect rural youth with ideas and experiences that can motivate them to pursue new projects, strengthen their leadership, and imagine broader possibilities for their future.
The podcast series is aligned with Más por TIC’s broader vision of building confidence and agency among rural youth. Beyond technical training, young people need narratives that help them see themselves as creators, entrepreneurs, leaders, and agents of change in their territories. By using audio storytelling, the organization can reach audiences in a flexible and accessible format, while also creating a space to discuss the role of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in rural life.
Together, these three initiatives reflect Más por TIC’s continued commitment to closing the gap between digital access and meaningful digital use. The work in Boyacá with 19 farmers’ associations will support rural productive organizations; the #CharlaPorTIC with TikTok is helping translate digital platforms into entrepreneurial opportunity; and the new podcast series will contribute to the empowerment of rural youth through stories, knowledge, and inspiration.
Looking ahead, Más por TIC will continue consolidating its role as a bridge between rural communities, technology partners, and opportunities for inclusive development. By combining training, strategic partnerships, and content creation, the organization is advancing a model in which digital skills become a driver of rural entrepreneurship, youth leadership, and long-term community transformation.
