Over the last three months, our teams in the International Internship Program have continued their work to improve the communities of sub-Saharan Africa, whether by bringing awareness to substantial advocacy and public health issues or by helping each community's small business owners take their first step towards life-long financial success. As we reach the six-month milestone since the program’s commencement, we are proud to report each program’s current progress toward our mission of aiding sub-Saharan African communities.
In the International Business Internship Programs, our teams have provided their business partners with financial advice and provided them with a financial tracking system tailored towards the business partner’s financial goals. This financial guidance, along with the proposed tracking system, is intended to support their business partner in achieving economic success and serve as an initial step toward a series of incremental improvements for their business. Our dedicated teams are collaborating with business partners to create advertising materials for each business owner and design comprehensive advertisement campaigns to effectively promote each small business within their communities.
In the International Advocacy Internship Program and the International Public Health Internship Program, teams are refining their campaign proposals to ensure their efficacy and efficiency in raising awareness for these substantial issues on human rights, preventative diseases, and living conditions. Through their close work with the project coordinator, who is based in Nigeria, each team can ensure the practicality of their workshop implementations within the community and improve the campaign’s outreach toward their desired demographic.
As we approach the final stretch of the International Internship Program, our interns have never lost sight of aiding their assigned communities in Northern Nigeria. Their dedication of time and effort is truly commendable, and we hope to see their projects flourish upon completion.
Additionally, we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to and supported our organization throughout its establishment. Everyone at Leadership Initiatives would love to have you more involved in our organization if you would ever want to help us grow our programs or learn more about ways that you can assist. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!
