Team 23154 Receives Microgrant- Amina Umar

By Marshall Bailly | Executive Director

Dear Leadership Initiatives Donor,

Linus, Sophia, and Isabela have been amazing interns in Leadership Initiatives’ International Business & Development Internship Program. Over the past year, these students have built cross-cultural relationships with their project coordinator, Glory Dadi, as well as their business partner, Amina Umar, who runs an up-and-coming Restaurant. Throughout their time working with Amina, team 23154 have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to not only understanding Nigerian culture and business intricacies but also fostering a deeply meaningful connection with their business partner. Their dedication and passion for learning have been truly inspiring, marking them as exemplary representatives of cultural exchange and business innovation.

Linus, Sophia, and Isabela have been working throughout the last few months to create and develop innovative solutions for Amina to assist in establishing and growing their Restaurant. After months of working together and in conjunction with their business partner and project coordinator, team 23154 applied for a microgrant for the business, and their proposal was just approved! This microgrant will furnish the business with essential resources, empowering Amina to enhance service offerings, expand the customer base, and elevate profitability. The approval of this grant stands as a testament to the hard work, ingenuity, and dedication of team 23154, solidifying their role as leaders for positive change and entrepreneurial growth.

Additionally, Leadership Initiatives is beginning work on multiple community development projects in rural areas of Bauchi, Nigeria. To highlight one, In the Guru community, a culvert bridge will be constructed that will foster connectivity to other communities and allow access to vital services during the rainy season. These projects underscore Leadership Initiatives' commitment to empowering communities, driving sustainable development, and creating lasting positive change.

On behalf of everyone at Leadership Initiatives, thank you for everything that you have done. We all truly appreciate your donation and support for our organization.
