When you were a teenager, chances are you needed some guidance to reach your goals. In life, as in soccer, you need assists to score goals. I know I did, and I’m grateful for those who helped me. Every day in developing countries on soccer pitches, in school yards, in classrooms, and on dusty fields, Vijana Amani Pamoja are making an assist for young people—but they can’t do it without your support. Young people in sub-Saharan Africa face the most acute combination of health and economic issues of any population in the world, including HIV, unwanted pregnancy, and gender-based violence. With your help, they can overcome these obstacles and reach their goals. By making an assist, you can empower youth to shine and achieve their goals. On Tuesday, GlobalGiving launched GlobalGiving’s 2017 YEAR-END CAMPAIGN to celebrate our 2017 fundraising campaigns which you have been a great part of it.GlobalGiving is now offering twenty $100 prizes to the first 10 projects to reach 50 donors and the first 10 projects to reach $10,000 by the end of 2017.We are humbly reaching out to YOU to help us be part of the first 10 projects for this campaign.

Messages of peace

Through its continuous efforts of striving to learn, improve and grow its programs’ impact, VAP has won a spot on GlobalGiving’s Top 10 list of Non-profit organizations committed to impact https://www. globalgiving.org/learn/top-10- nonprofits/. This has been as a result of actively participating in the GlobalGiving Rewards systems which GlobalGiving uses to recognize the over 17,908 nonprofit partners globally who are committed to learn improve and grow. The Reward system provides tools and trainings necessary for nonprofit organizations to utilize as they continue to build and scale up the capacity of their programs while receiving points for both effectiveness (commitment to learning) and Engagement (participation on the GlobalGiving platform).The listing has been accompanied by a seed grant from GlobalGiving which will go towards strengthening the capacity of the programs."Many thanks for the kind donations that you have been donating through GlobalGiving that makes us be effective and impactful to the communities that we serve.The attached award certificate is not only for our organization but to everyone YOU being included."Said Enouce,the Director of Vijana Amani Pamoja.

Playing Football for Peace

VAP coaches, volunteers and staff gathered at Buru Buru grounds to mark the International Day of Peace which is globally celebrated on 21^st September. The group played a football match under the banner ‘Am Playing for Peace’ and later on had a walk from the pitch to the streets carrying peace messages to the Kenyan population to quench the simmering tensions. The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") is observed around the world each year on 21 September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.
