In partnership with Arusha Science School, we have conducted the Energy System workshop, which is currently underway. The workshop involves 60 girls (ordinary level graduates) under the program called AfrikaLens. The program aims to equip graduates from underserved families with the skills to create their own energy systems, which can be used for various purposes such as lighting and phone charging. We expect to conduct field visits soon after the systems are completed and install them for use in their respective families. Mentorship and Advice: In collaboration with THE Commission of Science and Technology (COSTECH), we have mentored three female innovators who are in the process of commercializing their innovations. This includes manufacturing their final products ready for the market, conducting market testing, and completing business registrations. Among the female-led projects incubated by COSTECH and mentored by Twende are NEFRA TECH, which specializes in cereals winnowing, LUBENO Tech Limited, which manufactures coconut oil extractors, and ARCHMILL Tech Solutions, which produces a multifunctional machine for peeling and threshing maize.
