Challenge

Liberia's children have been traumatized by 2 decades of war. Liberia's education system was destroyed and Liberia's rich musical history is being lost. Liberia's children do not know their musical legacy. This project will provide music education, discipline and teach children about peaceful alternatives to the rage they feel from the traumas of war.

Solution

This project will provide music lessons to 275 talented Liberian children and channel their energies into positive activities. It will teach them discipline, teamwork and help preserve Liberia's musical heritage while providing badly needed jobs.

Long-Term Impact

275 Liberian children will learn leadership, creative skills, music, discipline and how to peacefully channel their rage. The project will also teach and restore Liberia's rich musical heritage.

Additional Documentation

This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
