Dear friends,
I am happy to have the opportunity to write you this quarterly update. In the past three months, your contributions have created important educational opportunities for students in Tanzania. With the support you have provided, AfricAid was able to distribute textbooks at two schools, serving over 1,000 students in northern Tanzania.
The first set of textbooks was provided at Upendo English Medium Primary School in Usa River, Tanzania, a school that is teaching elementary students English to best prepare them for future educational and professional success. The students couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to learn English from textbooks! Please visit here for more information about Upendo: http://africaid.com/?page_id=30.
The second set of textbooks was provided at Losinoni Primary School in a rural Maasai Village in Tanzania. Very few students in this community have had the opportunity to learn from textbooks before, and with your support, they have been able to hold and own their very first copies of textbooks. Thank you for making this possible! You can read more information here about Losinoni: http://africaid.com/blog/?page_id=25.
I'd like to invite you to help us reach our goals by the end of this month, as students return from holiday in Tanzania. Please post the following link to your Facebook page, or send it by email, encouraging your friends to get involved in changing lives in Tanzania! http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/tanzaniantextbooks/
Thank you for making vital educational opportunities possible for these young students!
With much appreciation, Ashley Shuyler Founder and Executive Director AfricAid
