Youth in Uganda are the youngest population in the world, with 77% of its population being under 30 years of age. Unemployment and high crime rate, are the biggest problems Uganda is facing today, with 83% unemployed, mainly graduates living in urban center. Due to the theoretical educational system in the country it is hard to find suitable placements for even the little jobs available. As a result, early marriages & pregnancies, rape & drug abuse increase every day.
There is nothing as profitable as Talent. The Rockies Talent Academy will facilitate the development of practical skills, intellectual understanding, and sense of self-worth for students to be self-reliant and job creators. Our target is graduating 100 young people every year.
The Academy will be a model school for Talent development, producing professional performers, and entrepreneurs, who will be the ambassadors of social change. High crime rate, drug abuse, early marriages and pregnancies will reduce, due to the fact that the youth in the community and its surroundings will be engaged in meaningful work. Furthermore, the sense of need to rely on the outer world will be diminished by empowering a better understanding on cultural values together with self-worth.
