Context:

After the promulgation of new Migration Law in Chile, the April 20^th April 2021, the government began a new regularization plan that takes 180 days to regularize more than 50 000 migrants, between them we find many Haitian that need to profit from this plan. But they need 2 documents important to subscribe to the plan: Criminal Record from Haiti and valid Passport. As we know, Haiti has political destabilization and the covid paralyzes many public services. That means Haitian in Chile could not find the documents one time to take part in the plan. For this reason, we began a campaign one national and international press, and social media to pressure Haitian government to try to help us and the Chilean government to facilitate with less conditions the regularization of Haitian.

As we know 15^th and 16^th MAY, was a period of election in Chile when a total of 14,900,089 citizens makes up the electoral roll approved for the election of 16 regional governors, 345 mayors, 2,252 councilors and 155 members of the Convention that will draft the new Constitution of Chile.

As we know some migrants have a lack of information about their civils and politics right, so we organized more than 2 workshops by zoom for migrants, inviting experts to explain how the election will be, how they can vote, etc. Those activities were streamed via Facebook live and YouTube, when we got more than 100 people impacted directly.

Actions:

Election Workshop: We co-organized more than two workshop days before the Chilean election. We prepared many advertising materials such as flyers, spot, and short videos.

2nd Workshop on citizen participation for foreigners in Chile. The objective of the workshop is to inform our community about that of the Municipalities, Council and Governorships.: https://fb.watch/5JiLLkjeT6/

Cooperation with "Preu en Cuarentena"

Context:

Covid-19 is causing several victims in Chili, for today, this country has 690,066 cases and 17,786 deaths (Ministry of Health, 2020) and the main commercial cities, where many migrants reside, particularly Haitian migrants, are quarantined or in transition stage. As a consequence, the unemployment rate in Chile during the February-April 2020 quarter was 9.0 (INE, 2020).

The most affected are migrants, either because they cannot access the social assistance offered by the government, or because of lack of documents or because they do not know the source of information.

Some businesses that resist have changed sales formats: Online sales, by phone, by WhatsApp, by mail, delivery ...

To reach customers or beneficiaries, companies or organizations use more digital marketing, social networks, and others.

Actions:

GivingTuesday: We participated in the campaign Giving Tuesday in December to find fond to keep working to orientate Haitian in Chile during Covid-19. We prepared many advertising materials as flyers, spot, short videos:

We sent already the app T-zen to be reviewed by Appstore to get I IOS (iPhone) version
We cooperate with the project “Preu en Cuarentena” (Pre University in quarantine) that names “Matematicas Sin Fronteras (Math without borders) of student group from “Universidad de Chile” where we are looking a bilingual (Spanish/French) Math Book that user can download easily in our platforms; while teaching Haitian girls and boys the math online to help them to prepare to enter to the university. This project won a prize of “Pemio Azul “to finance it.
Job: We publish more than 20 job. We made many posts, contents to explain user how to get a job in Chile, how to prepare resume, how to take part in interview, how to do after getting the job.

Virtual Recital of Haitian poetry in quarantine

Victims of Covid-19 in Chile are on the rise, as of today, this country has around 431,704 cases and 12,641 deaths (Ministry of Health, 2020), the main commercial cities, where many immigrants reside, particularly immigrants Haitians, are in mandatory quarantine. As a consequence, the unemployment rate in Chile during the February-April 2020 quarter was 9.0 (INE, 2020).

Those most affected are immigrants, either because they cannot access the social assistance offered by the government, or because of lack of documents or lack of information. Any way we find many way to help people to staw home and know about haitian culture and help people to find correct information. Thes most relevants activities are the following:

Virtual Recital of Haitian poetry in quarantine in Chili

On August 15, 2020, T-zen organized the first Virtual Recital of Haitian poetry in quarantine in Chili. 9 Haitian poets residing in Chile and 3 guests (from France and Venezuela) were invited. More than 50 viewers via Zoom and it was broadcast live on Facebook from T-Zen. After the event, more than 15 videos of each poet he read were edited for posting on T-Zen's YouTube and Facebook every week.:https://youtu.be/3XTfMywjAg4

Solidarity with Haitian migrants

In September 2020 Thank to The support of the organization Globalshapers hub Santiago and Reality Israel; T-Zen has participated in the “Solidarity with Haitian migrants” activity in the city of Santiago de Chile, in the Quilicura commune, where 40 boxes of food were delivered to a volunteering Group named « Youn ede Lòt » in order to them help Haitian migrant families in a situation of economic vulnerability due to the consequences of COVID- 19. The Haitian migrant community is the third largest foreign community in Chile. However, it is also one of the most excluded social groups due to differences in language and skin color. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this was deepened by expressions of racism and xenophobia in the press. The food boxes were prepared by Locomido, a Venezuelan company. They were designed considering the traditional diet of Haitian migrants and with indications of recipes to cook the food.
