In post-conflict in Syria, mistrust and social divisions still run deep after years of war. The Syrian Peace Resources Network will empower youth and women to become peacebuilders through training, dialogue, and local initiatives. By equipping them with skills in conflict resolution, leadership, and community engagement, the project aims to rebuild trust, foster cooperation, and create a sustainable foundation for peace and reconciliation in Syria.
More than a decade of conflict has left Syria's communities fragmented and fearful. Local peace efforts remain scattered, while youth and women-key drivers of social change-are excluded from civic participation. Without training, coordination, or safe spaces for dialogue, communities cannot overcome divisions or build the trust needed for lasting peace and recovery.
The project will establish the Peace Resources Network in Syria, connecting and empowering local peace actors-especially youth and women. Through training sessions, peer-learning visits, and 20 community dialogue forums, participants will gain practical skills in mediation, civic leadership, and conflict resolution. Together, they will design and launch community-led initiatives that rebuild social bonds and strengthen peace across Homs and wider Syria.
By building a network of skilled peacebuilders, this initiative will create lasting change across Syria. Trained youth and women will become catalysts for reconciliation, fostering cooperation and reducing community tensions. The Syrian Peace Resources Network will serve as a national model for inclusive peacebuilding, inspiring future generations to embrace dialogue, justice, and shared responsibility in rebuilding their country's social fabric.
