The project seeks to assist vulnerable populations in Syria during the severe winter period by delivering critical winter support and bolstering community resilience. It prioritizes the distribution of winterized shelters, warm clothing, blankets, and heating fuel to displaced families and residents in high-risk areas. Beyond immediate relief, the project will also implement community-focused initiatives to strengthen preparedness for future winters.
Millions of Syrians, especially women, children, and people with disabilities, endure severe hardships each winter due to poor shelter conditions, lack of heating, and limited access to essential winter supplies. These challenges increase their risk of illness, death, and socio-economic vulnerability, while ongoing conflict and displacement further undermine community coping capacities. Urgent support and resilience-building measures are needed to protect those most at risk.
The project will deliver vital winter support to vulnerable Syrians, including warm clothing, blankets, mattresses, heating fuel, and winterized shelters. At the same time, it will enhance community resilience through awareness campaigns on safe heating and capacity-building activities, helping communities better prepare for and cope with severe winter conditions.
The project aims to decrease winter-related illnesses and deaths among vulnerable populations while strengthening community preparedness and resilience. By improving living conditions and enhancing local capacities, it will enable communities to better withstand future winter emergencies, supporting long-term health, safety, and socio-economic stability.
