2024 Christmas Beneficiaries — Fully Funded & On Their Way

We’re thrilled to announce that all 2024 Christmas beneficiaries are now fully funded! Thanks to your generous support:

Some wheelchairs have already been handed over.
Others are currently being manufactured and are in the pipeline for delivery.

Your contributions have transformed lives and made real, tangible difference. We are so grateful for your trust and partnership.

Looking Ahead: 2025 Beneficiary Preparation

While we finalize the details of our 2025 beneficiaries, we’re already getting a head start. The need continues to grow, and we’re committed to matching our impact with momentum.

A Big Win, a Great Loss, and 3 Incredible Dreams

Dear Sweethearts Supporters,

We’re thrilled to share some incredible progress – and humbled to reflect on the road still ahead.

Thanks to a generous donation from our incredible partner, Aquazania, we’ve been able to fully fund 6 of the 10 wheelchairs we’ve been working so hard to deliver!

These wheelchairs are more than mobility aids – they are tickets to freedom, inclusion, and dignity.
Aquazania, your support is changing lives. Thank you!

A Heartbreaking Goodbye

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our seventh beneficiary, Mr. Hendrik, passed away before we were able to deliver his wheelchair.
We are heartbroken.
Mr. Hendrik’s story, courage, and hope will forever be part of our journey.
Rest in peace, Mr. Hendrik. We carry your memory forward in every collection and every chair delivered.

Three Heroes Still Waiting

We now have 3 remarkable individuals still waiting for their miracle wheels.
Here’s how YOU can help us cross the finish line.

Elijah (16 years old)

Living with severe cerebral palsy, Elijah is fully paralysed and has permanent hip dislocation.
Yet he greets each day with joy, laughter, and an indomitable spirit.
A motorized chair would let him show the world just how brightly he shines.

Remaining goal: R17,126.74 (~$915)

Celine (27 years old)

Celine has cerebral palsy and relies entirely on her father for mobility. Her dream is simple: a yellow power chair (yellow is her happy colour!) to give her freedom and independence.

Remaining goal: R37,926.35 (~$2,025)

Donald (Young adult, radio presenter)

Donald dreams of becoming a famous radio personality. But crawling or struggling with a manual wheelchair takes a toll. A powered chair would change everything – giving him energy, dignity, and momentum.

Remaining goal: R18,470.11 (~$985)

Where We Stand

Raised so far: R123,830.07 (~$6,610)
Still needed: R73,523.20 (~$3,925)

To reach our goal, we still need the equivalent of:

24,507 kg of bottle tops
7,352 kg of bread tags
7,352 kg of takeaway cup lids
6,127 kg of aluminium can tabs
