Background:
Dharmendra, a resilient young adult aged 20, faced profound challenges due to his deafblindness. Hindered by profound hearing loss and low vision, he struggled to access education and vocational training before the intervention of Sense India through partner organisation.
Intervention Provided:
Sense India with its partner organisation became a beacon of hope for Dharmendra, providing personalized support and vocational training. Through sign language instruction and vocational activities, Dharmendra gained proficiency in understanding money concepts and daily living tasks. His family also received sensitization on deafblindness to better support him.
Impact of Intervention:
Following the intervention, Dharmendra's life underwent a remarkable transformation. With support from partner organisation and Sense India, he established a successful grocery shop at home. Empowered with income generation support, Dharmendra achieved financial independence, earning Rs. 3500 per month. His success reflects not only his determination but also the triumph of the human spirit over adversity.
Present Condition and Achievements:
Today, Dharmendra's thriving business not only supports his family but also serves as a testament to his resilience and determination. Grateful for the support received, Dharmendra's family extends heartfelt thanks for illuminating his path to success.
