Every girl deserves a learning environment that helps her discover her potential, build confidence, and develop the skills to pursue her ambitions. At Tarkwa Breman Girls’ School, creating that environment means continually strengthening the support, resources, and learning experiences available to our students.
This month, our teachers participated in a two-day Teacher Professional Development Program offered by Foundation First. The training covered teaching approaches for learners from Foundation through Junior High School (JHS), with a focus on practical, evidence-based strategies to improve the quality of education our girls receive.
Key areas included teaching effectiveness, learner engagement, classroom management, assessment practices, literacy and numeracy instruction, and overall learner achievement.
These areas matter in the classroom. When teachers have practical strategies to engage learners, assess their progress, and support the development of foundational skills, they are better equipped to respond to students’ needs and create opportunities for meaningful learning.
For our girls, this investment is more than professional development. It is about strengthening their classroom experiences, supporting their academic growth, and helping them build a strong foundation for the opportunities ahead.
Alongside efforts to strengthen teaching and learning, we distributed school uniforms to all 390 students at Tarkwa Breman Girls’ School. This ensures that every girl has access to this essential part of her school experience and helps foster a shared sense of belonging within the school community.
Together, these efforts reflect our commitment to supporting the girls in different ways: strengthening the quality of education they receive while ensuring they have essential resources to participate fully in school.
Strengthening teaching and learning, while providing essential school resources, is part of building an environment where girls can learn, grow, and pursue their aspirations.
We are grateful to Foundation First for making the teacher training possible at no cost to Cocoa360. We also appreciate everyone whose contributions help sustain the educational opportunities available to our students.
Your support helps create the conditions in which our girls can learn, thrive, and move confidently toward their futures.
