With all of Haiti's political violence and resource scarcity, keeping Poured Out's 21 WaterHouse systems running is more vital than ever. These systems deliver clean, safe water to thousands each day - but they don't run without maintenance. We need your assistance buying new filters, supplies for repairs, and supporting Chelo & Junnot's work to maintain these systems. Your support directly impacts the day to day function of these systems, sustaining life-giving water for communities.
Poured Out has 21 Water House systems in the south of Haiti, with more in other areas. These systems require regular yearly filter changes as well as maintenance needs that come up with use. In 2027, we will be seeking to support the replacement of all Water House filters and provide intensive educational materials for each Water House community to further develop the ownership of these communities and the long-term viability of clean water solutions.
This project will provide us with the necessary funding to complete all our maintenance requirements. At Poured Out, we prioritize sustainability and not just new projects. We want our systems and filters to last for many years, providing consistent clean water access for communities. With the increased cost of shipping to Haiti and the supply issues we have faced over the last few years, we need extra attention given to our maintenance fund to get all our systems to a sustainable place.
The long term impact of this project is the sustained use and access to clean water that Haitian communities will have. One system alone supports 600-1000 individuals with clean water impacting their overall health, wellness, education, and economic mobility. We have seen the need for clean water increase with the challenges Haiti has been facing for years, and we want to see all our systems last for years and provide consistent, safe water to communities and individuals in Haiti.
