Thank you so much for your support of Poured Out and clean water in Haiti. We were recently able to go to Haiti and spend some time both with our Haitian staff and visiting Water Houses.
It has been 2 years since we have been able to safely travel so this trip was a big deal! The guys in Haiti were so excited to show us the Water Houses they have built on their own the past 2 years! It was really exciting to both see the systems and also learn more about the communities they serve. It is truly an amazing experience to get to see kids filling buckets of clean water, smiles ablaze, knowing that they won't get sick from drinking it!
Outside of visiting Water Houses, we also were able to help fix a system that had a controller error. It felt like old times settling into working together and we all felt how much we miss when things were more politically stable and safe throughout Haiti. It is truly miraculous that despite so many challenges, our staff have been able to persist in providing care and support for so many communities in Haiti.
The south is quite safe and the most recent Haiti updates are that a new gang suppression forces are being trained and that elections are set for December of this year. We never know what will happen but we stay grateful for our ability to serve how we can and for the support of people like you.
