Dear friends, thanks to your continuing support, we raised about $600. This money was used to pay the surgery for Crusita M. Diagnosis: congenital aphakia.
Crusita is having impaired vision from the very birth. In 2009 Crusita had an operation in the State Children’s clinic “E. Cotsaga” to remove cataract. At that time doctors did not implant crystalline lens, and suggested to wait until she will reach 18 years old. But, because of problems with vision, she started to have very heavy headaches. Mother consulted “Ovisus” clinic, where, after a number of investigations doctors suggested to urgently perform implantation on both eyes.
Crusita’s family has financial difficulties. Mother can not work, because her daughter needs permanent care. Father does not have a labor contract, as there are no working places available in the village they live, thus he is doing only small works at request. Because of the vision problems their daughter went to school later. Crusita is very diligent pupil, she likes learning. But one of her eye is totally blind, and she can read and write only using the other one, being in glasses and with magnifying glass. Crusita wants to see as other people do.
Today she cannot see with her right eye, and with the left one her vision is only 5%. The glasses with big lens can improve just a little her eye sight.Crusita started her 9th year in the school, but because of her problem studies‘ outcome and relation ship with classmates are suffering.
Nevertheless, Crusita keeps positive attitude and hopes a lot that after operation her vision will improve considerably.
Very soon she will have intervention and both crystalline lens will be replaced. We wish Crusita soon recovery, strong health and much success at school.
We would like to thank all of you who offered in time assistance for our beneficiary.
