Matei's heart is saved!

By Balan Marina | Project Leader

Dear friends, thank you for your ongoing commitment. We’d like to share news about the boy to whom we helped. His  name is Matei  B. He is 4 years old.  Diagnosis: Congenital heart disease.

First time we met baby Matei in 2015. Just a few days after he was born, doctors detect Congenital heart disease (transposition of the great arteries with ventricular septal defect 11 mm, pulmonary valve stenosis).

Matei already endured 2 surgeries during first year of his life. But he needs one more surgery. First surgery was paid by his parents. We all together assisted to pay for the second. It was successfully performed at 2016. At the moment Matei is preparing for the third surgery, which is extremely necessary and important. It supposed to be done not later than April 2019.

Approximate cost of necessary medical treatment and surgery is 9239 EUR. The parents managed to raise 2000 euros. We started  fundraising  for the little boy.

Not long ago Matei  with his parents  surprised us and payed us a visit bringing many warm feelings and good news with them.

Matei’s heart surgery in the cardiologic center of Kiev went successfully. The boy was recovering quickly and had already gotten the chance to play jokes on the girls in the hospital.

The boy is very energetic and willing to live. He isn’t allowed to go to the kindergarten at the moment. This is why his mom takes him out for walks in the park, to feed the pigeons.

The family was very worried from the economical point of view as the surgery had to take place sooner than intended. But we made it! Matei’s surgery happened just at the right moment. Now the parents can take care of the up-bringing of their child.

Matei’s parents  are  grateful to all of their saviours  for the help they so needed in fundraising.

One more child heart saved! Thank you so much for your care and support!
