Our children school year ended with great hopes of an outstanding summer! The girls are participating in a summer camp while the boys are focusing on their sport. The children are all healthy and enjoying their extra curricular activities.
There were several taekwondo fights with our kids won, and they are now participating in the team selection for the national league.
At Zorokoro, the solar panels are all installed and we are moving on to the purchase of the start up equipment so that we can receive 25 more children before the end of the year. The children greatly appreciate your support. Thank you!

Dear ACFA Friends,
Today we mourn with the world, as terrorist attacks occur throughout Africa and Europe. For us it all started when on Monday night 21 March, a group of three men attacked the EU Military Mission in Bamako. There were no injuries thankfully. The only fatality was one of the gunman, a 16 year old boy who, instead of being in school and preparing his future, was brainwashed and turned into a terrorist. We then followed with horror the tragedy still unfolding in Brussels and Europe at large. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families.
We just wanted to let you know that the ACFA children that you are supporting in Mali are all doing well. They are all on Spring Break this week, in Bamako. Today, 2 of our girls were pre-selected for their potential participation in the Mali National Basketball Team. Thank you for your continued support.

Update from Bamako

Taekwondo Ceremony
Dear ACFA Friends,
The children had no heath problems this quarter. Our taekwondo children are doing outstanding: three of our girls earned gold, silver and bronze medals at the Bamako tournament. Two of our children are now in secondary school and they ranked very high in their respective classes. The elementary students are also doing well. ACFA received one intern from the American International School in Bamako who worked with the children on several projects such as drawing, arts and crafts, and English tutoring sessions. In Mar, our basketball players went to play a tournament in Sikasso, Mali’s 3rd region, and earned a bronze medal. In the U.S., this month we will welcome our new fundraising and administrative associate: more to follow on this project in our next report.
