This project aims to improve access to primary education, the retention of vulnerable girls in the school system, and their academic success in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Results achieved: 150 vulnerable girls were monitored and their academic performance improved; 150 vulnerable girls received textbooks and school supplies; and the school fees of 150 vulnerable girls were covered.
Furthermore, this project aims to: a) support the actions undertaken by women who are victims of rape and sexual violence and community actors to promote the educational and social integration of orphaned girls and vulnerable members of families of women who are victims of rape and sexual violence and displaced by war; b) ensure comprehensive secondary education coverage for orphaned girls and vulnerable members of families of women who are victims of rape and sexual violence: tuition fees, school supplies, uniforms, and access to health insurance.
