The project aims to support the schooling, retention and success of 150 girls affected by rape and victims of social exclusion and particularly at risk of dropping out of school. In addition, this project will contribute to the protection and social, professional and economic reintegration of 200 girls who are victims of sexual violence in the city of Bukavu in South Kivu in the east of DR Congo.
In the east of DR Congo, socio-cultural barriers hinder girls' access to education. Indeed, many girls in eastern DR Congo are not in school or drop out of school early. The reasons are numerous: lack of consideration for girls' education, poverty, early marriage, low level of self-esteem among girls, girls often relegated to household chores... In addition, thousands of girls and women have been victims of Savage sexual assaults have been used by armed groups.
-this involves informing local local authorities about the objectives of the project and obtaining their advice in carrying out the project -Purchase of school supplies and materials for 150 girls (notebooks, mathematics box, bags/cases, school outfits, uniforms, shoes, etc.); -Paid school fees for 150 girls born from rape and victims of social exclusion - Purchase training materials - Train the beneficiaries (200 girls) and grant training certificates;
-At least 90% of the 150 girls supported by the project reached the 4th level in different schools in the city of Bukavu; -They were each provided with school supply kits (notebooks, mathematics box, bags/cases, school outfits, uniforms, shoes, etc.); - At least 90% of the 200 beneficiaries trained increased their income by around 60% at the end of the project.
