Challenge

In the east of DR Congo, socio-cultural barriers hinder girls' access to education. Indeed, many girls in eastern DR Congo are not in school or drop out of school early. The reasons are numerous: lack of consideration for girls' education, poverty, early marriage, low level of self-esteem among girls, girls often relegated to household chores... In addition, thousands of girls and women have been victims of Savage sexual assaults have been used by armed groups.

Solution

-this involves informing local local authorities about the objectives of the project and obtaining their advice in carrying out the project -Purchase of school supplies and materials for 150 girls (notebooks, mathematics box, bags/cases, school outfits, uniforms, shoes, etc.); -Paid school fees for 150 girls born from rape and victims of social exclusion - Purchase training materials - Train the beneficiaries (200 girls) and grant training certificates;

Long-Term Impact

-At least 90% of the 150 girls supported by the project reached the 4th level in different schools in the city of Bukavu; -They were each provided with school supply kits (notebooks, mathematics box, bags/cases, school outfits, uniforms, shoes, etc.); - At least 90% of the 200 beneficiaries trained increased their income by around 60% at the end of the project.
