By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing entrepreneurship support to poor families here. We are increasingly shifting our focus to support women who are engaged in small and micro-enterprises. This reporting period we launched our duck-based livelihood initiative by providing our clients with 15 ducklings which they will raise themselves and using local feeds available in their backyard comprising kitchen waste, excess root crops, banana trunks and coconut meat to feed the ducks with use teaching them the proper ratio in order to produce fat ducks. The ducks are raised for their eggs and meat which the beneficiaries can sell to their neighbors for income or they can use the meat to improve their nutrition. Some of the eggs will be hatched to raise new ducks in a sustainable manner. We have released a total of 1,200 ducks to 80 farming families this reporting period. The next steps will be to follow-up and provide technical support to ensure success of this project.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
