Challenge

In Nyangezi, Walungu Territory, many vulnerable women face poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to productive resources. Lack of capital, livestock, veterinary services, and livestock-rearing skills limits their ability to earn stable incomes. This affects household well-being, child nutrition, and resilience to economic shocks. Supporting livestock farming offers a sustainable way to strengthen livelihoods and women's economic empowerment.

Solution

The project will strengthen the economic and technical capacities of 50 vulnerable women in Nyangezi through small livestock farming. It will provide goats, pigs, or rabbits, veterinary supplies, and practical training in animal husbandry and income management. Beneficiaries will be organized into solidarity groups to promote mutual support, improve market access, and increase incomes and household food security.

Long-Term Impact

The project will sustainably strengthen the economic empowerment of 50 vulnerable women through small livestock farming. The skills acquired, animal reproduction, and solidarity groups will enable them to expand their livelihoods, to increase incomes, improve household food security, and build resilience to economic shocks. In the long term, these benefits will reduce poverty, strengthen local economic development, and inspire other women to adopt sustainable income-generating activities.
