World AIDS day saw the launch of our updated and revised website. Please visit our website and give feedback on its new design! We hope we have created a site that is not only effective and user friendly but which provides you with the information and resources you need to build your knowledge about HIV, Orphans and how we can all make a difference.

THE CHALLENGE WE FACE Having just commemorated World AIDS Day on 1 December 2009 we are reviewing the situation in South Africa regarding the AIDS crisis.

South Africa is currently facing a challenge on a scale never before encountered by any nation. We have a population of just over 49 Million people, of which a staggering 18 million are children. Of this number, 2.5 million children have been orphaned. In addition we have a further 5.7 million people currently infected with HIV. This is a daunting challenge and requires an effective and dynamic response.

Noah has developed such a response. Through training, capacity building and effective development we are building stronger communities capable of caring and providing for children orphaned by AIDS. Noah was founded in 2002 and as a result of the effectiveness of our strategy we have grown from a single Ark in the KZN midlands to stretching across 105 communities in 2 provinces providing support and opportunities to almost 30,000 children.

We invite you to be a part of the solution by getting involved with Noah and being the change that you want to see.

NOAH & GLOBAL GIVING Global Giving has to date transferred R42,018 to Noah. This has been used for school items and uniforms throughout the year. Our final purchase this year has been in preparedness for the start of the 2010 school year for children aged 6 years old.

Your support has enabled us to purchase 230 stationery kits and school bags for children who will start school for the first time in January 2010. Thank you to all global givers for making this amazing feat possible! The packs include crayons, pencils, notebooks and basic stationery.

For these children to start their school career with all the equipment they need is amazing and we are very grateful for your help in making this possible.

November Round Up: November saw Noah feverishly working on our new website which will hopefully help all users by providing extensive resources and insight into our work. This was launched on World AIDS Day so please visit it and give us some feedback! www.noahorphans.org.za Schools are closing and everyone in South Africa is getting ready for summer vacations and the festive season. We have been busy planning Christmas Parties for each of the Arks so that the children can celebrate the end of the year! Thank you to everyone who has chipped in with a gift, their time or a donation.

Please see the attached document for further details of our progress to this year!
