Noah’s Ark brought… hope Noah’s Ark is… a safe place Noah’s Ark provides…food Noah’s Ark gives…education
Hope, safety, food, education…these are words used to describe Noah by over 30,000 children. Since 2002, The Noah model has grown to encompass 107 Arks – 73 in KZN and 34 in Gauteng. Arks are child care forums led by a dedicated committee of local leaders who mobilise volunteers and staff members to care for orphaned and vulnerable children.
Volunteers register these children in the community who then receive a variety of the following services: registration, home visits, grant application assistance, food gardens, nutrition programme and where possible aftercare and/or day care programmes.
Additionally Noah offers training in bereavement counselling, early childhood education, governance, HIV/AIDS and financial management. Noah’s model is community driven and represents a sustainable solution to the orphan crisis. We provide more than just the basic necessities. Children need to laugh, play and love, especially those who have been through traumatic experiences.
To make a difference in these children’s lives, Noah is reliant on support from all sectors. This campaign is dedicated to educational support: we have bought school uniforms and stationery kits for children who would otherwise not have access to their own pens and pencils.
