At the Torkham border, thousands of Afghan families continue to return from Pakistan after being forced to leave behind their homes, livelihoods, and years of stability. Many families arrive with limited belongings and face immediate challenges, including lack of shelter, food, hygiene supplies, and opportunities to rebuild their lives.
Through this project, Aseel Foundation has continued supporting vulnerable returnee families by providing essential emergency assistance. Our teams have reached families in need and distributed critical supplies, including food packages, hygiene items, blankets, carpets, kitchen supplies, tents, and other household necessities to help families adapt to their new circumstances.
For many returnees, this support represents more than immediate relief. it provides dignity, comfort, and hope during one of the most difficult transitions of their lives. Families who arrived without basic resources have received assistance that helps them protect their children, meet daily needs, and begin rebuilding their lives in Afghanistan.
During our field visits, we met families carrying painful stories of displacement and uncertainty. One mother shared how difficult it had been to care for her children after returning with no stable income or access to essential items. With the support received, her family was able to access basic necessities and feel less alone during this challenging period.
Another returnee family explained their struggle to restart their livelihoods after leaving everything behind. The parents had valuable skills and a strong desire to become self-sufficient but lacked the resources needed to begin again. Their determination reflects the resilience of many Afghan families who are working hard to create a better future despite overwhelming challenges.
Aseel Foundation remains committed to standing with vulnerable returnee communities by delivering timely humanitarian assistance and supporting families as they move from crisis toward recovery. With continued support from our partners and donors, we can reach more families and provide them with the resources they need to
