Title: Alkhidmat & KVDA Sign MoU for Women Skill Development Center
Summary
Alkhidmat Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kalash Valley Development Authority (KVDA) to establish a Women Skill Development Center. This initiative aims to empower women through vocational training, equipping them with skills that will create sustainable livelihoods and promote self-reliance.
Story / Update
In many remote and marginalized areas of Pakistan, women face limited opportunities for education and employment. Without proper training and resources, they remain excluded from economic participation and community development.
To address this, Alkhidmat Foundation joined hands with KVDA through a formal MoU to launch a Women Skill Development Center. The center will provide training in tailoring, embroidery, handicrafts, and other income-generating skills. Women will also receive guidance on entrepreneurship and marketing to help them earn a stable income for their families.
This partnership is a step towards women’s empowerment, poverty reduction, and community uplift. By enabling women to contribute economically, the project will create ripple effects in health, education, and overall household well-being.
Beneficiaries
Direct Impact: Dozens of women in the initial training phase.
Indirect Impact: Families and communities benefiting from women’s enhanced income and skills.
Target Group: Women from rural and marginalized communities in Kalash Valley.
Impact
Women gain practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.
Reduced financial dependency and improved family well-being.
Promotion of women’s inclusion and empowerment in community development.
Next Steps
The Skill Development Center will soon begin training sessions. Alkhidmat also plans to replicate this model in other underserved areas of Pakistan, ensuring that more women can build better futures for themselves and their families.
