Dear KEDV Supporters,
Thanks to your continued support, thousands of women and children in the earthquake region are rebuilding their lives step by step. They are not only recovering from loss but leading the change in their communities. Every training, every shared meal, every child’s laughter in our centers carries your support within it.
Rebuilding from the Ground Up
Since the earthquakes, KEDV has been working side by side with women in Hatay, Kahramanmaras, Adyaman, Gaziantep, and Sanlurfa. Together, we are helping them rebuild their homes, livelihoods, and confidence with dignity and determination.
Through five Women and Children’s Centers, we have reached more than seven thousand women and six thousand children. These centers have become places of safety, learning, solidarity, and hope.
Economic Empowerment: From Skill to Livelihood
Women who lost their sources of income are now regaining their independence through skills and collective strength.
Over the past months, more than one thousand women have participated in entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and production workshops. Forty women-led small businesses and cooperatives have received mentorship and production support, allowing them to restart or grow their activities.
Children at the Center of Recovery
Each morning, nearly four hundred children attend early learning programs at our five Women and Children’s Centers. The programs are led by qualified early childhood educators and supported by trained local women who assist in daily activities and family outreach. In these safe and nurturing spaces, children learn, play, and receive emotional and nutritional support every day.
Health, Healing, and Sisterhood
True recovery begins with care and connection.
Through health awareness sessions and sisterhood circles, more than one thousand women have come together to share their experiences, rebuild confidence, and support one another’s well-being.
One woman said,
“We women stood together. We drew strength from each other.”
In every center women continue to heal, learn, and lead, showing that when solidarity grows, recovery becomes lasting.
Building Solidarity, Not Dependency
Our work is guided by a simple but powerful belief: solidarity creates lasting change.
Women in our centers are leading community initiatives, from neighborhood kitchens to recycling and upcycling projects, strengthening the bonds of trust and cooperation in their neighborhoods.
Every day we see women organizing, learning, producing, and rebuilding their lives with courage and creativity. Behind this progress stands a global network of people like you who remind us that no one rebuilds alone.
Thank You!
You have turned compassion into action.
You have helped women and children find hope after loss.
You have shown that solidarity can rebuild lives and futures.
With gratitude and determination,
Selen Gökdeniz
