For children battling cancer, access to essential medications is an important part of receiving timely and effective care. However, the cost of medicines and other treatment-related supplies can place significant financial pressure on families, especially those already struggling with the cost of prolonged cancer treatment.
What We Have Done So Far
Through this project, Adjah Cancer Support Ghana has been working to provide medication support to children affected by cancer. We have engaged with healthcare professionals and caregivers to better understand the medication needs of children receiving treatment.
With donations received, we have donated essential medications and treatment-related supplies to children’s cancer wards in some government hospitals. These donations have helped support pediatric cancer care and provided assistance where medication needs have placed additional financial pressure on families and healthcare facilities.
We have also continued engaging with families and healthcare teams to identify areas where additional medication support is needed. Our goal is to ensure that children facing cancer receive the support they need throughout their treatment journey.
How Donations Are Helping
Donations have helped us provide essential medications and treatment-related support to children with cancer. By contributing toward medication needs, we help reduce some of the financial burden on families and support healthcare teams caring for children undergoing treatment.
The need for medication support remains ongoing. Continued donations will allow us to assist more children and respond to urgent medication needs in pediatric cancer care settings.
