STATUS
Since our last report, we are happy to tell you that all of our selected eight Nepalese farmers have finished their organic farming training and they are now in the process of cultivating their crops based on the new techniques they have learned. They started the knowledge implementation along the training and now in December, the first organic-in-process crops are ready to be harvested, starting with these beautiful Cauliflowers.

COMPOST
Going back in time to October, the farmers received the second part of their starting kit that we managed to finance thanks to your contribution.
The second part included compost, equipment to make their own compost and irrigation system. Below you can see Bijay receiving traditionnal heap compost and vermicompost from Sudarshan.
Our selected farmers have had to rely for most of their farming on monsoon, leaving most of the land uncultivated for a long period of time.
IRRIGATION SYSTEM
In the picture below, we can see Rakesh who setup his new irrigation system :

LIQUID COMPOST
In October, Sudarshan received the set of tanks for the liquid compost. He delivered them to the replicators a few days later :

Creation of the third type of compost : the CPP (Cow Pat Pit)

CEREMONY WITH MUNICIPAL LEADER
End October 2019, the president of the municipality, who has been an early supporter from the start of the project came to the farm for an event. He encouraged the farmers towards developing new sustainable farming practices, leading the way for alternatives for new generations of sustainable farmers in Saptari.
DISTRIBUTING FOOD TO THE MARKET
The distribution methodology has been under our intensive attention. In order for the farmers to obtain fair market price, we will be launching experiments with local and near-by city experiment with the produce the farmers are providing. At short term, most of the produce will be sold in the local Mahuli market, but the aim is to find a balance between the production, so as to be sell it both locally and in cities with better market price. You will hear more from this in practice in our next update or by reading further in the links provided below.
