2.1 FY24 Back-to-School Book Ride
On Monday, December 2, 2024, Learning Squared Liberia successfully hosted its fourth annual Back-to-School Book Ride campaign. This impactful event, held under the theme "Turning Pages, Changing Lives," continues to fulfill its mission of supporting underserved school-going children in Liberia's project areas. The 2024 campaign brought together over 500 participants, including students, parents, school administrators, principals, and community leaders, highlighting the collective commitment to improving access to education. 50 students benefited from the exercise. The event was conducted across two key locations: the Ann Sandell International School in Montserrado County and the ROSODAN School System in Margibi County.
Beyond distributing materials, the campaign emphasized education's critical role in breaking poverty cycles. It provided a platform for students, parents, and community leaders to learn actionable strategies to support children’s education. A key focus was utilizing Learning Squared Liberia’s microfinance model, which empowers women entrepreneurs in the project communities to sustainably invest in their children’s education and improve household livelihoods.
The 2024 Back-to-School Book Ride campaign officially kicked off on December 3, 2024, at the Ann Sandell International School in Montserrado County. The event brought together over 60 participants, including students, parents, school administrators, and community leaders, showcasing a collective commitment to supporting education. As part of the campaign, 25 students received backpacks and other essential school materials, equipping them with the tools necessary for academic success. The distribution symbolized Learning Squared Liberia’s dedication to ensuring no child is left behind in their educational journey.
Victoria, a 5th-grade student, shared her heartfelt gratitude. She expressed how these resources would greatly enhance her ability to learn and grow academically. In her words: "These materials will help me do my homework and focus better in school. Thank you, Learning Squared Liberia, for helping me and my friends."
