May 2018 follow-up report of "Ashagram Orphanage"!

By Lars-Johan Johnsen | CEO and founder of SevaChild Norway/IBHN

Dear sponsors, individual donors and companies - supporters of Internasjonal Barnehjelp Norge/SevaChild Norway.

It is a real pleasure and honour for me to be able to report that your generous contribution towards this project - a total of approximately US $ 7.500 through GlobalGiving and our own sources - has resulted in our ability to complete the roofing of "Ashagram Orphanage" for boys. It means that all our children from the coming accademic year again can move back and start living in our premises. I am sure that every one of these boys will send you warm thoughts for what you did for them through your donations. And remember: When being part of this completion of "Ashagram Orphanage" you have also contributed to the solution of taking care of even more children in the months to come!

The "Ashagram Orphanage" has also installed - through other donors - a water purifing plant for the inhabitants and its surrounding villages, free of cost for all beneficaries. And on our land we are also planting varities of vegetables and fruits, enabling the Orphanage to be self suffient of these products, as well as being able to sell the surplus, thus enabling the Orphanage to contribute towards the running costs. I also hope that we in the months and years to come shall manage to extend the production of these products - hence, enabling the Orphanage to be even more self suffient.

As a new chapter in the history of this Orphanage now begins, we are still lacking funds for doors, windows, electrical- and plumbing installations as well as furniture. Hence, we again hope on your generous contribution towards the same, and promise you reports of utilization of such money, if received!

Finally, dear contributors - being the backbone of this project - we hope that you feel that your contribution has made a difference in the lifes of these children. We appreciate every contribution - whether small or big - and want you through our pictures to be convinced that your donation is reaching its intended goal.

Wishing all of you a nice summer wherever you might be!
