This emergency response will support 249 families (approximately 884 individuals) affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi in 3 districts across 10 villages. The support will be focused on supporting the Logistic and Equipment Cluster in providing immediate needs of the affected families, including family kit, hygiene kit, and voucher assistance. This proposed program is expected to provide concrete solutions to the urgent issues faced by the affected communities.
Mount Lewotobi in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, erupted on December 17, 2023, escalating from Alert Level II to Level IV by January 9, 2024. Eruptions pose a direct threat, impacting daily life in Wulanggitang, Ile Bura, and Solor Barat. Immediate concerns include insufficient clean water (77.08% lacking), inadequate sanitation (93.88% without separate toilets), and shortages of food, bedding, and necessities in evacuation sites. Urgent action is needed to address these unmet basic needs.
