In the second half of the year, our School of Political, Feminist, and Popular Education set out to deepen our focus on leadership and on the skills each compañera needs to become a popular educator and facilitator. This path led us to open our doors to different organizations, collectives, and individuals who accompanied and enriched the process with their knowledge.
At Mujeres de Frente, we understand education as an exchange that grows from the experiences and knowledge of each compañera. For that reason, rather than imposing external content, we aim for the learning process to respond to their own interests. Following this approach, and at the request of the group, the third quarter was shared with women from the Afro-Ecuadorian movement. Together, we built an analysis of the national context, and in doing so, the compañeras in training took on new challenges: facilitating open dialogue spaces, organizing collective ideas, and experimenting with methodologies such as timelines and body–territory maps.
At the same time, the training process found new routes beyond Quito. Thanks to our alliance with Comadres, an organization that defends the sexual and reproductive rights of women and dissident identities, several groups of educators traveled to different parts of the country. There, they facilitated workshops, exchanged learning experiences, and connected directly with the work of allied organizations. These journeys strengthened their confidence as educators and broadened the collective vision that sustains our process.
