Community development priorities look a challenging issue specially when it comes to requesting for support to construct facilities like schools, training centres, orphanages, hospitals etc. I think anyone who has ever experienced such situation, shall be able to testify this.
Uganda Youth Skills Training Organization, in her 2022-2030 frame works, has a task of putting in place a community vocational skills training centre, but this has for a long period of time become the talk of the day at the organization. In spite of almost construction becoming the song of the day, we have been able to secure land where we anticipate to construct the community vocational skills training centre. The centre shall support the most vulnerable young people, youths and teenage mothers to access training facilities and be able to create their own dignified employment, hence self-reliance. This has not yet be a dream achieved.
We thank the GlobalGiving partners who have been able to donate to our project " BUILD A VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE FOR 400 YOUTH". The donations so far collected are soon going to be used in approving one of the building blocks, which shall contain, 3 classes, 1 store and 1 departmental office. This is anticipated to begin early 2026 and the drawing of the proposed construction as already getting finished, remaining to be taken for the approval at the local authority offices, such that by February next year, we commence the project.
Next year we shall use the volunteer camp methodology in the construction and we shall be soon start posting for looking the volunteers who will support the local technicians and engineers who will also be volunteers.
The project still needs a lot of financial support and need for this is in our project appeal which is already going on, we kindly ask you to donate to us such that , by 2026 January, we already have the electricity in place, container to work as material store and volunteers resting shelter, toilet, water tank as there is not tape water close to the proposed construction site.
Your overwhelming support at this primary stage, of project curtain raising is a very crucial support.
