The construction of this primary school will provide access to quality education for over 200 disadvantaged children in Abua, a rural community in South Sudan. By creating a safe and supportive learning environment, the project will reduce school dropout rates and offer out-of-school children a chance to return to the classroom. It will also equip teachers with a conducive workspace, enabling them to deliver effective and inclusive education, ultimately transforming children's lives.
Years of political instability in South Sudan have severely disrupted education, leaving children vulnerable and underserved. Abua Primary School currently operates in makeshift classrooms built from wood and grass thatch, which have been damaged by termites and harsh weather. During heavy rains or extreme heat, classes are often canceled, causing frequent learning disruptions. Without proper facilities, children's education and future prospects remain uncertain.
The local community has shown strong commitment by pledging in-kind contributions, including local materials like bricks, timber, gravel, and river sand. Your support will help secure essential building supplies that the community cannot provide, including Iron Sheets, Cement, Nails, and Iron bars, which will be used in building the school. Thus, the school will provide good learning spaces for underprivileged children in and around the Abua Community.
The successful construction of the school will provide quality educational opportunities to disadvantaged children in and around the Abua community, leading to improved learning outcomes. This school project aims to reduce dropout rates and create opportunities for out-of-school children to return to their education. Furthermore, teachers will benefit from a better working environment, enabling them to deliver practical education and promote inclusive and equitable learning for all children.
