There’s a lot going on in the Foundation, here’s an update about the most important achievements:
Urban Garden Network:
In May we had a very successful fundraising dinner in Marmoleo with the chef Pedro Fernández (The Chef is Back). The success of the event will be used to assemble the prints for greater production, for the purchase of technical inputs that our emerging gardeners need and for the work in the schools.
We’ll be organizing another Fundraising Dinner soon in Medellin, keep updated on our social media, so you won’t miss it.
SENA course:
This year the SENA - a public establishment with administrative autonomy, attached to the Ministry of Labor – is giving a 6-month horticultural training course in our garden. SENA “emprende rural/approach rural” is giving this course until October.
"Manglar de mi Corazón/Mangrove of my Heart":
Our project on the coast of Colombia "Manglar de mi Corazón/Mangrove of my Heart" is expanding. We started a program with the Corporation Maria Mulata that is called “Amigos del Manglar/Friends of the Mangroves”. Part of the program is the recognition of the mangrove environment by children through field trips and the formation and acquisition of knowledge about the importance of the mangrove through the creation of workshop. We already realised a recycling fair where the children built ecobricks and other useful objects.
As you see there is a lot happening, and we are very grateful for your support! If you are able, please consider become a monthly donor through Global Giving, which helps us calculate our projects and have a faster progess.
Thank you for your generous support!
