The She-Tech Boot Camp is a digital and life skills program to develop the capacity of female youths between the ages of 15-30, who cannot further their studies for economic reasons. Our goal is to equip 200 female youths in one year to enable them to develop tech skills that would aid them in either becoming self-employed or building a tech career. This initiative allows us to reduce the unemployment rate in Nigeria, bridging the gender equality gap for women and girls in tech.
The high poverty rate causes many young girls to be cajoled and sometimes forced into early marriages due to economic reasons. We want to reduce that menace and create a platform for young girls and women to build competencies to thrive, become self-sufficient, and make significant contributions on their terms. Some of these young girls have dreams of furthering their education to university levels, but lack of access to funding dampens it.
Our She-Tech Boot Camp is a digital and life skills program to develop the capacity of female youths between the ages of 15-30, who cannot further their studies for economic reasons. Our initiative equips them with digital, technical, soft, and business skills to enable them to start their small businesses or become employable. Over 3-4 months, female youths are trained to be self-employed or build a tech-based career.
By 2030, we want to have empowered 1,000 female youths through our SheTech Boot Camp. The outcome will be a generation of young girls, who are empowered and self-sufficient to pursue their dreams, continue university education, or support their families, even when there is little or no external financial support. Your support enables us to train 200 girls every year and scale up.
