What if a young girl has questions about her body but is afraid to ask?
What if she experiences abuse but does not recognize that what happened to her is wrong?
What if a young person receives misinformation from peers because reliable sexual and reproductive health information is unavailable?
What if a woman experiencing gender-based violence does not know where she can seek support?
Information matters.
Sometimes, the difference between vulnerability and informed decision-making begins with having access to accurate knowledge.
Yet stigma, cultural taboos, displacement, poverty, and fear can make sexual and reproductive health information difficult to access in conflict-affected communities.
Through Support Sexual Health Rights for Women and Girls, GoGreen aims to reach 400 women, girls, and young people in Benue State with age-appropriate, rights-based information, peer education, community dialogue, and awareness activities.
We want participants to understand their rights.
To distinguish facts from harmful myths.
To recognize unacceptable behaviour.
To know that gender-based violence should never be normalized.
And to understand that seeking information or appropriate services should never be a source of shame.
Knowledge does not solve every problem.
But without knowledge, people can be denied even the opportunity to make informed choices.
This project has not yet received a donation.
Your contribution can help us begin changing that.
Help put accurate information where misinformation has flourished.
Help replace stigma with understanding.
Help women, girls, and young people make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.
Donate today.
