We are raising $30,000 to provide life-saving nutritional rehabilitation and ARV treatment for 100 children living with HIV at Nyumbani Children's Home in Nairobi, Kenya.
Children living with HIV at Nyumbani face a grave threat: severe malnutrition. This leads to growth delays, weakened immunity, and increased infections, severely impacting their health. The recent cut in USAID funding has jeopardized the consistent supply of vital ARV medications and therapeutic foods, essential for their survival. With rising economic pressures and strained public health facilities, Nyumbani anticipates a surge in severely malnourished, HIV-positive children needing urgent care
This project will support 100 HIV-positive children with $30,000 for therapeutic foods, ensuring proper nutrition and immunity. Consistent ARV treatment will prevent disease progression. Nutritional monitoring and counselling will empower caregivers. Clinical care will manage health complications. By filling the funding gap, this project will provide life-saving resources, improving the children's health and quality of life.
The project will improve health outcomes, strengthen immunity, and ensure viral suppression, helping children thrive. Nyumbani's capacity for comprehensive care will grow, creating a model for HIV support. Success will attract further funding and increase awareness of HIV challenges. Healthier children will have better futures, contributing positively to society. This initiative not only saves lives but builds a sustainable approach to HIV care.
