Thank you for your continued support of our project to provide quality healthcare to 45,000 households in Kenya. Your generosity is helping Mabati Medical Centre (MMC) bring essential healthcare services closer to communities while strengthening local health systems.
Medical Camp and Outreaches
A highlight of this reporting period was a medical camp held in Maungu, Taita Taveta County, where MMC, in partnership with the Lions Club of Pwani Mombasa and the County Government of Taita Taveta, provided healthcare services to 612 patients. The camp offered consultations, cervical cancer screening, eye care services, and cataract surgeries, ensuring that many community members could access specialized care closer to home.
MMC reached 1,284 community members, including adolescent girls, youth, young mothers, village leaders, and long-distance truck drivers, through targeted outreach and in-reach initiatives. These programs focused on sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention, mental health, healthy relationships, and non-communicable diseases, equipping communities with essential knowledge, empowering young people to make healthier choices, and strengthening pathways to more resilient futures.
Investing in Healthcare Workers
MMC continued to partner with the Ministry of Health to support healthcare workers through specialized training programmes on maternal and newborn health, family planning, and HIV prevention. These trainings brought together healthcare professionals from public and private facilities across Kilifi County, helping improve the quality of care available to thousands of patients.
Expanding Diagnostic Services
With support from the Safaricom Foundation, MMC installed a new Clinical Chemistry Analyzer and trained laboratory staff. This investment will enhance diagnostic services and enable clinicians to make faster, more informed treatment decisions. MMC is also working to expand its ultrasound capacity to meet increasing patient demand.
Growing Impact
By the end of August 2026, MMC had provided healthcare services to 27,548 patients, while thousands of laboratory and radiology investigations supported timely diagnosis and treatment. These achievements are only possible because of supporters like you.
