In the last 4 months, the Mabati Medical Centre successfully organized 4 outreaches in the remotest locations in Kilifi to create awareness on prevention and early diagnosis. Community health outreach programs is a strategy used by our medical staff to increase awareness on communicable and non-communicable diseases and to promote early diagnosis for timely intervention and appropriate treatment plans to community members. Our diagnostic services conducted 13,399 laboratory examinations and facilitated 4 staff capacity building sessions to enhance the staff capacities. Additionally, we expanded our services by establishing a Physiotherapy Unit and an HIV Comprehensive Care Clinic services previously offered by our partner BOMU medical services,
The Mabati Medical Centre in 2024 will focus on organizing monthly preventative health outreaches to create more awareness on diabetes, HIV/AIDS, cervical cancer, children's dental health outreach, arthritis, hypertension, immunization, breast feeding, obesity, breast ABD cervical cancer. These outreaches will be organized in partnership with other link minded healthcare providers in Kilifi and neighbouring counties of Kwale, Mombasa and Taita Taveta to increase our interventions and reach. The below change story outlines the impact of our healthcare program in Kilifi County.
"A 78-year-old female from a rural village in Bamba, Kilifi, diagnosed with diabetes and hypertension has been struggling to access quality healthcare before coming to the Mabati Medical Centre. With no reliable source of income to pay for his medical treatment, she walked 41 kilometres with the hope of finding support instead of giving up on her health. She visited the Mabati Medical Centre in November 2023 and was enrolled into our diabetes clinic for free medical consultations, drugs, and treatment. Currently, the 78-year-old lady is managing her condition better with the support from our medical staff and strong enough to move around with ease to take care of her grandchildren. Giving hope to patients like this old lady has been made possible by donors and supporters like you.” For this reason, we are forever grateful!
We are always inspired by the immerse support from our donors and reaffirm our commitment to stepping up our efforts even further in 2024. We are committed to deliver innovative, impactful services that will reach more marginalized populations.Together we will continue towards increasing access to quality and affordable healthcare in Kenya to increase the productivity of community members in Kilifi County, Kenya.
